This is truly a unique home that is becoming a vacation rental for the first time ever.  Built in 1974 and designed by Frank Lloyd Wright's protege, Albert Robson, this sprawling mid Century design boasts over 3400 square feet of living space, with 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths.  The king sized master bedroom is on the second floor, with his and hers bathrooms, a separate sitting area and beautiful views overlooking the length of the canal.  The main floor has two guest rooms, one with a king sized bed and the other with two twin beds.  Besides a formal living room, there is a large walk down family room with large screen TV, a treadmill for your use, and plenty of relaxing living space going out onto a brand new deck with outdoor seating on the canalside.  There is also a large inside utility room with a brand new front load washer and dryer, a separate private office area with a flat screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen with brand new stainless appliances, and a large dining area with seating for 6 or more.  The house is located in a prime Anna Maria location on a canal with end of canal views, yet just two blocks from the Gulf of Mexico, Ginny's and Jane E's and all of the nearby restaurants!

Personal Message from the Owner

"We, as a family (I am second generation) have enjoyed this unique mid-century architect-designed home and property since first buying in mid-'70's.  It is among few on-end-of-a-canal with "down the canal view" AMI properties -- yet only two short blocks from Gulf of Mexico beach, which is among the top five rated U.S. beaches in Travel and Leisure!  After a beach visit and salt-water exposure  one can rinse off with property installed exterior fresh water shower adjacent to boathouse.  For those interested in a true, somewhat upscale and roomy, FL island mid-century vacation experience - this may fit your desires.  Every vendor whom I have needed to come to address any issues (plus guests) have always remarked about view and architecture.  It was originally designed, supervised and constructed in 1956 under architect Albert Robson's direction.  "AL," whom I had pleasure of meeting on several occasions in late '70's when he was building his inter-coastal houseboat anchored at property, was a Frank Lloyd Wright protege, having previously attended post-grad one of FLW's schools.  When AL designed and built this home, it was from contemporary arial photos that I have, the sole construction with no neighboring homes.

"AL," as architect, carried through entire building of this home the same dedication to then "state of art" (and still so in many ways) construction throughout the home.  We have, over the years, updated, expanded and improved the home; but always in keeping with same mid-century architectural motif, thus keeping it as original to "Al's" (and FLW's) vision as possible.  It was "overbuilt" at the time with copper plumbing, copper roof edging, massive 3-phase electrical amp supply with copper wiring, custom built-in BR drawers and closets, rounded wall corners, and floor tile that was then imported from Italy, as I understand, (there were no HD or Lowes then in 1956).  I have recently replaced curtains, blinds, uniquely sized and custom LR rug, kitchen appliances (LG sxs SS fridge, plus GE SS flat-top electric stove), and have installed optimal current AV equipment (including 70" flat-screen TV in FR, and flat screens in every BR).  I also installed new landline phones throughout, plus two new central AC units (of three total), and new font-loading LG washer and dryer.  I maintain a yard service, pest control service, and, of course, all utilities, including, cable TV, internet connection and home-wide internet WiFi connection.  I hope you and your's stay(s) will be as pleasurable as were mine and my family's stays in past.

Sincerely, and with island good wishes,
Wayne"

When you are ready to explore the island, you can hop on board the free AMI trolley that runs daily along the island and has a stop at the Anna Maria City Pier, just blocks from your door.
